Lunugamvehera National Park

Lunugamvehera National Park, located halfway between Yala and Uda Walawe, serves as an elephant corridor between the two more well-known national parks,as well as a refuge for wildlife that relies on the same-named reservoir.

The park, which is made up of evergreen forests, grasslands, and scrublands,is dry for much of the year, with the heaviest rain falling in January and February. It is favoured by a handful of tourists seeking a calmer experience, despite being overshadowed by its two large neighbours.

For bird watchers,a jeep safari in Lunugamwehera National Park is recommended, since it is home to almost 200 species of indigenous and migratory water birds, making it a popular nesting and breeding habitat.

If you are a wildlife enthusiast or just here for a vacation at TARA Watergate Hotel, this is a place to check out to add to your memorable pictures!
