An unusual sighting to go out and see at Tissamaharama around the lake is the amazing flyout of thousands of bats between 5.30 PM and 6:30 PM,when the sun is setting.Though it may seem like an unusual activity,it is mesmerizing to see all the fruit bats doing their own flight out.
It"s about a 45 min walk around the lake with the Tissa Wewa (Tissa Tank) within sight and this comes along with the Bat Watching adventure which is not too exhausting.
Speak to our staff at TARA Watergate and we will have a Tuk Tuk or even a Qute car,arranged for transport.
